Little Lost China Glaze

Hello ladies, are we enjoying our day?

If you remember earlier this month I went on a CG spree. I wore all of them that I had and finally got swatches of them. Or so I thought... I had lost one and forgot all about him. What kind of mother does that to one of her babies? Lol

While trying to make more room and organize after the Christmas influxe (I got ab 16 new bottles), I found this beauty in the back of the drawer.

Nostalgic Angela

Hello ladies, I'm back again today! I just wanted to share with you a swatch of one of the polishes that I won from The Holographic Hussy. All photos are three coats with no undies.

Holiday Mani #5: Penguins!!!!

Hello ladies, I hope you're having a good day.

In case you couldn't tell from the title I'm really excited about this mani. I love penguins! They are one of my favorite animals, pigs and pandas being the others. I think I thing for p's lol.

A couple weeks ago Set in Lacquer posted a step by step guide for her Christmas penguins mani. I couldn't pass it up, they were too cute. Of course mine aren't anywhere near as wonderful as hers.

I started with a base of SC Cinderella and then sponged PI Superstar on the tips for their bed of snow. For their bodies I used PI Superstar, LA Colors Circuits, and WnW Sunny Side Up. For their hats I used Zoya Sooki and PI Superstar. I covered all that with a coat of PI Don't You Wish for some extra sparkle.

They came out a little lopsidded, so let's just pretend they're dancing or waddling toward you lol. Also I made the ones on the outside looking at the ones in the middle.

I was amazed at how simple these were (thanks to the tutorial). And they were fun to do. I'm surprised that they came out as good as did. My honey says her favorite part is their hats lol.

What do you guys think? As always thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed :)

Holiday Mani #4: Christmas Trees

Hello ladies, how's your day been?

Todays mani is sort of a fail. I guess it could have been worse, but I'm still not real happy with it. Which probably means I'll end up taking it off tonight and doing another sometime tomorrow.

I wanted to do hand painted trees on a white background, but those were a complete mess. You couldn't even tell what they were. No use sharing a fail if you can't make out what it is right?

So I decided to do a green background to represent the trees. Of course this meant I couldn't do the stars on top (my favorite part :[ ) but still better then nothing. I added tensil and ornaments as well.

You would think I would have learned not to use too dark of a base after the whole swirl mani thing, but apparently not. This mani is just too dark for my liking. Plus I couldn't get my tensil how I wanted.

In case you're wondering colors I used:
Green: SH Emerald City
Silver: LA Colors Live
Purple: LA Colors Nuclear Energy
Blue: LA Colors Static Energy
Pink: LA Colors Neon Pink

Definetly gonna have to try this one again next year. Maybe by then I'll have learned about contrasting colors and my skills will have improved lol.

What do you guys think? Any ideas on how I could have gotten that tensil to look better? As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed :)

Holiday Mani #3: Christmas watermarble

Hello ladies, I hope you are enjoying your day. I know we're all reeling from the shock of what happened in CT.
I was gonna post this on Friday, but it just didn't seem appropriate. So I saved it for today. Plus I took the extra time to spend with my family.
This was inspired by Mixed Mama and all her amazing wtermarbles. I love them but let's face it: they can sometimes be a pain in the butt! Amazingly this one didn't give me too much trouble, and I LOVE how it turned out. This was actually the first mani that I posted on my personal fb wall.
For this one I started with two coats of PI Superstar. The I used it, Zoya Sooki and SH Emerald City for my rings. Then I topped all that with a coat PI Don't You Wish for some sparkle. I think my favorite was my middle finger. My pointer looks a little weird, but its ok.
I definetly think I'm starting to get a hold on this watermarbling thing. What do you guys think? Also I have two more holiday manis that I want to get done before the end of the year(This month has just flown by). So be on the lookout for those.
In light of what happened on Friday, hug your loved ones a little tighter. As always thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed :)

Holiday Mani #2: Christmas Lights

Hello ladies, enjoying your day? :)

I have another holiday mani to share with you today. I have been wanting to do these ever since last Christmas. I wasn't obsessed with polish then but I did enjoy painting my nails. That was also around the time I discovered nail art. But I knew that I could never pull it off, nor did I have enough polish or the tools to do it.

Skip forward one year and all that has changed! I'm very proud of how these turned out. They aren't all uniform in size or shape, but that's ok with me. They remind me of the older huge bulbs that my great-grandmother always used.

I started with a base of two coats of Pure Ice Superstar. For my wire and bulb base I used LA Colors Circuits. As for my bulbs I used LA Colors Hot Blooded (red), Jolly Rancher Green Apple ( green & scented!), Sinful Colors Why Not (blue), Art Deco Yellow (yellow, duh lol). I added the "ho, hos" at the end to fill space, but I'm still not sure how I feel about them.

All these Holiday manis are really getting me into the spirit. As well as all the tutorials being posted. I'm itiching to try every single one. I already have a few more planed, including a water marble inspired by Mixed Mama.

What really gets you in the Holiday spirit? Also if you've done any holiday themed manis please stop by and post them on my facebook page, I would to see them!

As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed :)

Holiday Mani #1: Swirls

Hello ladies, I hope you are having a wonderful day :)
I have said it before and I'll say it again, I'm not afraid to share my fail art with you. Not everything comes out perfect everytime. You have to start somewhere.
With that being said I present to you my attempt at a swirley mani. I was inspired by Christmas ornaments that I saw somewhere (was it tha Walgreens flyer?). Anyway...
I kept my base of Orly Preamp and free handed the swirl with LA Colors Live. I wish now that I had used a darker base, its hard to see the swirls. I appologize.
It didn't turn out the way I saw it in my head, but overall I'm pretty happy with it. This is only my third time using brushes though. I've got a few more Christmas manis planned, so I'm sure to get more practice.
Well, we've come to the end :(. As always thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed <3

Orly Preamp: NOTD

Good afternoon ladies, I hope your day is going well.

I have a very quick NOTD post to share with you. I got this polish a few months ago when I won two Sallys gift cards. This beautiful baby was just calling my name.

Orly Preamp is a pretty blue toned pink with a golden shimmer throughout. It was part of the fall 2012 Electronica collection. Application wise it was a dream. Full coverage in two coats. I did wish the brush was a bit wider though.

You might still be able to find it in stores. If not I'm sure you can on ebay or amazon, and I'm sure there's other websites out there as well.

That's all I have for you today. Sorry so short but the inspiration just isn't there :(. As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed :).

Donna Michelle SB: Pink

Hello ladies, I hope you are enjoying you day :)

Today for you, I have a polish that I stumbled upon while out running errands last week. I stopped at the Dollar Tree for some candy, and I just had to go down the aisle with the beauty goods!

There were putting out a new polish by the brand Donna Michelle Salon Basics. I think its kinda like "their" brand. I haven't seen it anywhere else. There isn't a name on the package or bottle (so frustrating), so I just call it pink.

The bottle looks almost identical to the KleanColor bottles, but I thinks its a little smaller. The color selection is very small, I think only about 5 colors. But for a dollar I thought, what the heck?

Application wise it was pretty decent. It was a bit runny, but not too hard to handle. This one was kinda thin also. I used two medium coats, but I think it could have used another. But again, for the price, I'm happy with it.

Like I said, I've only seen this brand at Dollar Tree, and this was the first time I've seen polish. But if you've seen it else where, please let me know.

Have you seen this, or tried it? Let me know. As always thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed! :)

A Little Nail Staping: NOTD

Good evening ladies, I hope you're having a good day :)

Tonight, as promised, I have my NOTD featuring CG Foie Gras. Its just not a color that I could wear on its own. So I stamped over it using Pure Ice Super Star and a salon express plate. I topped all that with a coat of Pure Ice Don't You Wish.

This is probably my favorite stamp that you get with the set. I really can't wait to get some new plates. I'm dropping some major hints lol.

Well that's all for tonight. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed :)

China Glaze Foie Gras

Good evening ladies, I hope you've had a good day :)

Tonight I have another China Glaze swatch for you. I also used this in a NOTD but I lost my light so I hope to get photos of that tomorrow. Ill try to get that post up by tomorrow evening (fingers crossed).

Anyway, tonight I have Foie Gras to show you. It was part of the spring 2012 Hunger Games collection. Its a purplely brown creme. Kind of a dusty color, it dries darker than what the bottle leads you to believe. I had no application issues and it covered fully in two coats. I got it for nail art mostly because it is kind of a weird color.

I got mine at Sallys a few months back when it was on clearence. Some might still have it, but if not I'm sure you can find it on ebay or amazon.

That's all for today. I will try to get my next post up tomorrow (I really need to build a light box). As always thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed :)

China Glaze Lemon Fizz: NOTD

Good afternoon ladies. I hope you are having a good day :)

I decided to continue down the path of wearing all my China Glazes (which isn't that many) so I could have swatches of them all. I went with Lemon Fizz today.

Lemon Fizz was part of the spring 2010 Up and Away collection. It is a soft pastel yellow creme. One of the best formulas I've found for a yellow. Took three coats, but that's because I was impatient and smudged my second coat. Otherwise I could have gotten away with two.

I doubt that you will find this in stores, but I know its on ebay for about $5. I'm sure its also on amazon. I got mine from copious before they went downhill.

That's all I have for you today. Sorry for being so short but I don't feel that great today. As always thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed :)

China Glaze Bahamian Escape: NOTD

Good evening ladies, I hope you are all enjoying your day :)

I wanted to share my NOTD with you right quick. We are going to start preparing for dinner tomorrow here in a little bit. I imagine this might get ruined but that just gives me another excuse to paint them again lol.

I wanted something bright and fun for today. And it seems I've been on a blue kick as well as a China Glaze kick here lately, so I went with Bahamian Escape. Plus as its getting colder who wouldn't wanna escape to the Bahamas?

Bahamian Escape was part of the winter 2008 Bahama Blues collection. It went on wonderfully, with full coverage in two coats. I've really come to love CG's formula. In terms of color i'd say its somewhere between a sky blue and a robins egg. Either way she's beautiful.

I got mine from ebay, and seeing as its from 2008 its highly unlikely to be in any store. I'm sure you can find it on amazon and maybe nailsupplies.us

Well, that's all for today. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families, and if you're going shopping this evening or in the morning, please be safe. As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed :)

China Glaze For Audrey: NOTD

Good morning ladies, I hope your day is a good one so far. I'm off to the doctor with my honey to see if we can discover the cause of some grinding and constant pain in her knee. When it comes to doctors she's like a big baby, so this day should be interesting lol.
But before we go I wanted to share my NOTD with you. This is probably one of the most popular China Glazes out there. I know it went on my wishlist the moment I first saw it. And of course that would be For Audrey (FA).
FA was released in honor of Audrey Hepburn. It is really close in color to the infamous "Tiffany blue", although it leans a bit more blue. In the horrible lighting in my house it can look minty blue. And of course this makes me love it more.
The formula was pretty good. It was a bit runny, but since I bought it used I don't know if it's just my bottle or not. Someone may have thinned it a bit too much. You can see I had some cuticle pooling on the middle finger of my left hand. Also, my bottle has a wonky brush. All photos show two coats.
Even though it was released a while ago its still pretty easy to find. According to Sallys its in stock online and in stores. I've also seen it on ebay and amazon. I think you can also get it on transdesign, although last time I checked it was sold out. I got mine on copious back during the summer.
Well, that's all I have for you today. Do you own this or is it one that you want? As always thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed :)

My New Winter Blue:NOTD

Good evening ladies. I hope you are all enjoying your day :)

I thought I would share a quick NOTD post with you. I've been real lazy about painting lately, still not back on scedule after the time change. Also I got mad the other day and choped my nails into super nubbbins, so forgive the shortness. Apparently I'm really violent in my sleep, I would wake up every morning with new scratches.

Ok, enough of my yapping, onto the nails.

This is two coats of China Glaze Electric Beat. It's a beautiful dusty cornflower blue. But it's not as dark as some dusty blues tend to be. Kinda like somebody shot it with some periwinkle.

It's from the spring 2012 Electropop line, so I doubt you'll find it in stores. But, I got mine fron ebay and I'm sure you can find it on amazon or transdesign. I also want to pick up aquadelic, dance baby, and kinetic candy from that collection.

Well, that about wraps it up. Don't forgot to drop by my facebook page to see other nails of the day and all sorts of random stuff. As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed! :)

Pure Ice Mint Dream

Good evening everyone! I hope you are all having a happy Halloween, and if you are on the east coast that you are all right after Sandy blew through.
Today I have Pure Ice Mint Dream to show you. I got this as a gift a while ago and forgot about it until now. I know it's been a while since my last post so I thought I'd showcase this beauty.

NOTD LA Colors Phenomena

Evening ladies!  Just thought I would drop in to say hi and share my NOTD with you.  I really hope to get a computer soon. I hate this blogger app so I tend to stay away:( But if you follow me on twitter you can see all my NOTD!
Anyways, on to the nails...this is a polish that I got from my honey a few months ago but was saving for cooler weather. Its a pretty berry cream by LA Colors called Phenomena. The first two coats were a little streaky so I added a third to even it out.
I hate that I can't add photos throughout the post and only at the end. The collage is an example of what I post on twitter. As a treat I'll throw in Zoya Suri, which I fianally used even though I've had it for months!
I hope these scattered post aren't annoying you too much and driving you away! As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed :)

F4 Fruity Pebbles Sprinkles

Good afternoon ladies. First I want to say how much I miss our community. I miss seeing all the wonderful photos and reading all the awesome blogs. I can do it from my phone but it takes forever and just isn't the same :( I hope I'm not away too much longer.
And secondly I want to appologize for the pictutes. They were taken with and edited with my phone. Please forgive me if they are absolutely horrible.

F4 Halloween Collection

Good evening ladies,

Today, for you viewing pleasure I have three polishes from F4's Halloween Collection. I got these a few weeks ago but I hid them from myself, so forgive me if you've seen these on other blogs already :). I received Hocus Pocus, Drunken Zombie and Boo To You. ( I also got a non-Halloween one that you will see soon)

Chocolaty Goodness

Evening ladies!

I am really excited about this, it's my first water marble that I think the whole thing was successful. Plus it reminds me of sweets! At first I thought it looked like chocolate-vanilla swirl ice cream, but then my honey said it reminded her of Hershey Hugs, and then I thought or Zebra cakes! So many delicious sweets.

10 Day Nail Art Challenge: Day 10!

"Although we've come to the end of the road, still I can't let go..."

Sorry about that, it's completely natural for me to randomly break into song. Happens multiple times a day. lol

But we really have come to the end of the road so to speak. This is the last day of the challenge. I'm gonna miss it, but I already have a whole list of ideas to show you guys. But, before that I have a review of some Halloween polishes! I can't wait to show you those either, they are gorgeous.

OK, back to the mani at hand. Today's assignment was to re-create our favorite. I was gonna redo my most popular, but I went in the other direction and did my least popular. I did day 3, with a twist. I chose my second favorite holiday, Halloween, and did a water marble using orange and black. Please keep in mind that this is only my third time doing this.

10 Day Challenge: Day 9

Good morning lades, we are almost to the last day. Can you believe tomorrow is the end? :( I'm gonna miss having a task to do each day. I really have no imagination when it come to nail art concepts lol.

Today's assignment was french tip variant. I couldn't think of anything to do! (I told you, no imagination) So, I pulled out my dotting tools. I used a base of Zoya Wednesday and used Zoya Arizona for my "dot tips". Can anyone guess what my favorite orange is? lol

10 Day Challenge: Day 8

Good morning ladies, we have come to day 8. Anyone else feel like this is going too fast? Today's theme was galaxy nails. I've seen so many gorgeous galaxy nails and heard they were pretty easy, so I thought maybe I'd end up with something pretty decent. Not so much.

I decided I wanted to do a blue galaxy base instead of the usual black. This was also inspired by pinterest. So I started with a base of WnW Teal of Fortune, then sponged on Zoya Song, China Glaze Bahamian Escape, Pure Ice Wild Thing, Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet, and made stars using Pure Ice Superstar. I also added a coat of Pure Ice Don't You Wish for a bit more sparkle.

10 Day Challenge: Day 7

Hello ladies, thank you for joining me again. We are at day 7, and it is flowers. This is my favorite so far! I recently got some nail stickers from Jilltastic Nail Design, but I couldn't find them, so I decided to use a stamp. I have fallen for stamping now that I've gotten the hang of it!

I started with a base of LA Colors Magnetic Force, which is an orangy-coral with golden shimmer. Then I stamped using Pure Ice Superstar (told you it gets used alot), then used a dotting tool and LA Colors Aqua Crystals to make the detail in the middle. The stamps are SE plates 19&21.

10 Day Challenge: Day 6

Welcome back ladies, we are at day 6, which is polka dots! (Also referred to as a "dotticure") This is my second one and was inspired by one that I found on pinterest. I think this one turned out better than my last one.

For this, I started out with a base of Julep's Jessica, my absolute favorite light blue! Then I used dotting tools to make the dots in Zoya Arizona and Pure Ice Superstar. (that poor thing gets used alot! Good thing I have about 4 bottles)

Ok, so it didn't turn out exactly like I planned, but I still like it. Don't forget to stop by Erica's and check out everyone else's. As always, thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed! :)

10 Day Challenge: Day 5

Okay ladies, we have reached day 5, the half-way point. The days are just flyin by. I was thinking of letting you guys tell me some nail art you would like to see. I can't promise that I'd get to it right away, but I would eventually.

Ok, back to the challenge, todays task are gradients. I've been pracgticing these since I agreed to do this, and I just couldn't get the hang of it. Finally, Erica suggested using a kitchen sponge. That did the trick! This was my first semi-successful attempt. I've done a couple more, but I like this one the best.

10 Day Challenge: Day 4

Morning ladies, this is day 4 of our nail art journey, and it's time for some saran wrap!

Now this is a look that I've seen a couple times and wasn't sure that it was for me. After doing it I can definetly say it's not for me. But I've seen others that were cute and it was fun to do.
I used China Glaze For Audrey as the base, and once that was dry, painted on Lemon Fizz. Then set to town with my cling wrap. Mine's not quite perfect, but nothing of mine ever is! Lol

10 Day Challenge: Day 3

Alrighty ladies, we have arrived at day 3 and it's... favorite season or holiday! My favorite holiday has to be Valentine's Day. Celebrating love and all the loved ones in our lives. Plus, all that yummy candy and chocolate. And who doesn't love a good stuffed animal? I'm personally fond of those big giant gorilla's that you see at Wal-Mart or pharmacies and such. So dang cute!

10 Day Challenge: Day 2

Good morning ladies, we are onto day 2 of the challenge. And today it's....Favorite Animal! This one was a no-brainer for me. Anyone who knows me knows that my favorite animal has always been pigs. I love all pigs: big ones, small ones, fat ones and fatter ones lol. My grandma had them when I was little and apparently is was all they could do to keep me away from them. I think my love for them boarders on obsessive.

10 Day Nail Art Challenge: Day 1

Good morning ladies, hope all is well!

As you may have heard Erica at Erica's Nails and More is doing a 10 day nail art challenge. I'm sure you have seen and maybe even done a 31 day challenge, but I don't think I could keep it up for that many days so 10 seems perfect for me.

PCOS & Ovarian Cancer Awareness

Hello ladies! I hope you all are having a wonderful day. Today's post subjects are one that are very dear to me.

If you don't already know, September is PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) as well as Ovarian Cancer Awareness month. My mother was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer when I was young ( I don't really remember it, guess I was too young or just blocked it out), but did have to end up having a full hysterectomy after my sister was born. And when I was in 10th grade I was diagnosed with PCOS. I don't share this with many people because I have many of the more embarrassing symptoms, but I feel so much kindness in this community and if I could help just one woman feel that she's not alone then it's totally worth it!

Rainbow Dotticure

Hello lades, I hope you all are enjoying your long weekend and are having a wonderful labor day. Can you believe it is September already? *side not only 9 more day until my 4th anniversary*

I'm sure most of you are aware that this past Saturday was the first Saturday of the month making it "Sassy Saturday" over at Shelly's. This month the theme was "dotticures".  I've seen alot of them lately but hadn't gotten around to it, even though I had it planned. I decided to do rainbow dots since I LOVE rainbows. Everything is better if it's rainbow hued.

Starry Earth: Clock Strikes Twelve, Humble Honey-Badger

Hello ladies! Today I bring you two polishes from Starry Earth. The lovely Elizabeth of Starry Earth was kind enough to send these to me. As beautiful as there are on her site, they are even more so in real life. I don’t have anything like these and I haven’t seen anything like these before.

Blue Butterflies

Good evening ladies, I’m back with another post. Two days in a row, can you believe it? lol I made sure to get up early so that I could this done and get pictures before the sun went down. Wouldn’t be nice to have time to just sit around a do your nails all anytime you pleased?

Ok, back to reality… I am determined to get the hang of stamping. I found a set on amazon with a G Clef on it, but I have said that I won’t invest in anymore plates until I get the hang of stamping. So, don’t be surprised to see lots more stamping post lol.

Versatile Blogger Award

Hi guys I know it’s been awhile since my last post, but I’ve gotten into a lazy rut and I need to get out of it. I hope to get some stamping done, a braided mani and something with dots, maybe ladybugs.

Anyhow, a few days ago I got nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award from Shelly’s Sassy Nails. (Thank You Shelly J) My second blog award this month! This one is for bloggers who are still fairly new but doesn’t have a follower limit. Rules seem pretty simple for this one too.

NOTD: Julep Jessica

Good morning ladies!

I skipped TIOT this week so that I could wear my new Julep Jessica that I got from Copious on the latest round of credits. This has been on my wishlist for a few months now, so when faced with the opportunity to get it for a penny you better believe I swiped that baby up lol.

NOTD: Teal or No Teal

Good afternoon ladies, I have a NOTD for you. It's WetnWild's Teal or No Teal. But first some nail art.
After this morning's excitement I couldn't get back to sleep so I've been up since then and I decided to play around with my nails. I tried some more water marbling. Again, not sure how I feel about this, a little better then last time but one finger got smashed in the door when I went out the take a pic. I thought it was dry but I guess it was no match for the door. lol

So, now onto the notd: this is 3 coats. I would have been ok with 2 but I had a few bald spots.

First "Official" TIOT

Good afternoon ladies, today I have my first "official" TIOT. I did my first one back in June but that was just for fun, you can find it here. Again, I have an unnamed LA Colors from the metallics set. This one is a dark grey and it reminds me of the lead in a pencil.

Liebster Award

Good evening ladies, today I have for you my very first blog award! How exciting lol.

I was nominated by Fancy Schmancy Nails.(And dreammyMM Nails) Apparently this award is for bloggers with less than 200 followers. The rules are simple and I tried to follow them all but I had trouble with one:
1. Each person tagged must post 11 things about themselves.
2. They must also answer the 11 questions the 'tagger' has set for them.
3. They must create 11 more questions to ask bloggers they have decided to tag.
4. They must then choose 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers and tag them in their post.
5. These lucky bloggers must then be told.
6. There are no tag backs.

First Water Marble Attempt

Good evening ladies!

If you follow Shelly's Sassy Nails then you know tomorrow is Sassy Saturday.(if not SHAME on you lol) That is her monthly themed contest. And this month was water marble. It was the perfect excuse to do something that I had been wanting to try but had just been putting off.

I'm not quite sure how I feel about how this turned out, nor what to label it as. For my first attempt I don't think its all that bad, so I'm hesitant to call it a complete fail. But, I know that it's not that good either. I just don't know lol. I'm excited to try it again though.

Let me know what you guys think. Have you tried marbling yet? Have any good first time horror stories? (I love a good horror story lol) Or were you an instant expert?

Tip Top Nail Chic

Good morning ladies, today I have swatches and a review of four polishes from Tip Top Nail Chic. Tip Top is a South Africa based company. All of their polishes are cruelty and the big 4 free. I really liked the formulas on these, and most of them covered well in two coats but I used three for some. My favorite thing about them was the brushes, they are wide and flat and covered the nail in 3 swipes, giving you streak free application.Dry time on these were really good. It was about 2-3 mins per coat. I received Pink Lady, Solar Flare, Black Forest and Space Cadet.
*This is pic heavy, so join me after the break*
