AIS: Your Favorite Flower

hello ladies, I hope you are having a great day

*The products in this post were either purchased by me or won in a giveaway. As always, all my opinions are my own. For more info you can view my disclosure policy here.*

This weeks AIS prompt was 'your favorite flower', mine has always been a hibiscus. I remember that it was the first flower that I just had to know the name of. Other than them and Wisteria I am not into flowers. Unfortunately I didn't have many hibiscus stamps to chose from :(
I started with two coats of Zoya Savita. I am absolutely in love with the matte velvet trio that I won recently. I should those swatches up Tuesday. I actually took the time to wear and enjoy them instead of just swatching. I then stamped using the only two plates I have with hibiscuses BM313 & 318.

I honestly don't think that I've ever had such a hard time with two images in my entire life. I think between just these four fingers I had to re-stamp about 12 times! And you better believe that after all that trouble I wore these for about four days. Incase you're wondering my thumb matched my index and pinkie fingers.

I like the overall look, and I adore Savita with topcoat, but I don't know that I would use these two images again. I thought about contacting BM to get my defective plates replaced (there seem to be quiet a few with this set) but I've had them for so long I'm not sure how that would go. Plus I'm no expert stamper so maybe its just me. Anybody know any other plates with hibiscuses? I'd love to revisit this look later on with some neons.

What do you ladies think? What are your favorite flowers? As always, thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed :)

  1. A few days ago, I was talking to my friend and we were trying to remember the name of this flower because we had a tour guide in Hawaii who kept spelling it for us like a million times, but we could not remember it. Now I'm giggling because it was hibiscus. I love how this turned out but that sucks that you had such an issue with the stamping plates. You should definitely contact them...the worst they could say is no. :)

  2. Bummer about the image plates. I'd never guess that you had any issues with them, though, because this turned out really pretty! :)

  3. These are beautiful. So in love with that color. Will have to stalk ebay... ;-) That sucks about the stamping plate though. :(

  4. thank you Sarah :) I hope you can find it for a reasonable price. The wear on these are great, I wore it for about four days and only had one chip, and I caused that myself trying to change phone cases. I really wished these were permanent.

  5. thank you Justina :) I was determined to get it done and have something that looked decent. Maybe I will be able to get them replaced as I do like the images.

  6. lol I'm gonna contact and see what they say. I just get nervous because a more experienced stamper contacted about getting some of the plates from the fourth set replaced and had a bit of trouble. She provided images of where she had used different polishes, stampers and scrapers and still couldn't get the images to work and their response was "did you remove the blue film?"

I would love to go to Hawaii! That ones not likely to happen though as I'm terrified of flying and not much better with the idea of getting on a boat lol.
