Today I have a review of the XL Stamper from The Born Pretty Store to share with you. I am a stamper hoarder-junkie so of course I jumped at the chance to review this. I was expecting something quite like the Winstonia XL one but I was surprised when I opened the package.
It comes with the stamper and two scrappers, just like the Winstonia version. It also has smaller red rubber end, again like Winstonia. Where it differs is the silicon end is very firm. I don't remember seeing anything about that on the website so I was expecting it to be squishy, or a marshmallow as it's referred to.
You can't really tell from the photo but it was very shiny so I didn't expect it to pick up all without some prep but I tried it anyway using black and Cheeky Jumbo 9 plate. Please forgive my penmanship, it's been said I have the writing of a serial killer lol. The top row is unprepped and the bottom is after going over it with a smooth nail file.
As you can see it didn't do too bad at first but it worked almost perfectly after I prepped it. Also, I am happy to report that I didn't have any issues of the head wanting to fall out of the holder. I was however, able to easily remove it for cleaning. I think it will do nicely for creating decals.
I decided to use it to create a mani so you could see how it stamped on the nail. I again used Cheeky Jumbo 9 along with China Glaze Fancy Pants to create this cute monkey look. I was inspired by a swatch post I saw for Pretty Serious Purple Monkey Dishwasher.
I stamped using Essie No Place Like Chrome and it's kind of hard to see. I apologize for that.

I got this too and like it so far. Haven't tried the really squishy stampers before so I can't say which I like better. I've only tried the Konad one and I like this one just as much. I'll have to get one of those squishy ones though since I've heard a lot of great things about it.
ReplyDeleteI prefer a medium squishy for overall stamping but I like having a variety since some stamps seem to work better with super soft ones and some like the really firm ones.
ReplyDeleteI have this stamper, but my rubber tip is quite squishy/sticky- not as firm.
ReplyDeleteI got mine on eBay from China for .99 cents free shipping actually, haha. :)
