I'm very excited to be writing today's post. A while ago I found the Adventures In Stamping group on Facebook and I just had to join. It's a great place if you love to stamp. There is always something new happening, whether it be new plates or stamping polish or just advice being shared. I also hear that they do great group buys. But my favorite is the weekly stamping challenge. Everyone gets to vote and then you post your manis on Sunday. I have been meaning to participate ever since I joined but I can never seem to get it together. That's why I'm so excited that I actually manage to get it done this week!
Hit the jump to keep reading....
This week's theme was "Over a black base", and I recently won Black Holo from Mentality so it seemed to be fate that I participate this week. One of the other options would have been "Re-try a fail" and I think this would have worked for that too because I have tried this stamp before it kept failing. This one kinda did too, but it's the best yet. lol
I started with the base of Mentality Black Holo, a gorgeous black jelly linear holo. I was super impressed with everything about this polish. From formula, application, brushes and dry time. What you see is two coats with topcoat. I really need a better camera, it just can't capture the real beauty of this.
Then I stamped using SC Snow Me White and Bundle Monster BM-314. I have loved this stamp ever since the first time I saw it (can't remember where that was). Unfortunately I'm afraid I may have gotten a bad batch of plates. Many of the designs I've tried don't really work. And wouldn't you know those are the ones I liked the most? I guess I'll just keep working with them.
Love the holo base, and the stamp looks good!

DeleteThis looks great! Love the contrast of the white over the holo base. :)

DeleteMentality is quickly becoming my new indie crush. Have you seen those jelly holos? *swoon* This is a really nice black holo and the stamping really pops against it.
ReplyDeleteI was luck/unlucky? enough to be on fb when she first put up the cover photo and I about died! They are just perfection! Thank you so much for all the comments, it's a great honor to have you on my little blog :)
