Influenster XO Voxbox Review

*Provided by Influenster for review. As always, all opinions are my own. For more info you can view my disclosure policy here.*

Hello loves and welcome back. I have something a little different for you today so please bare with me as this it the first time I'm reviewing something other than nail stuff. I recently received the Influenster XO Voxbox and finally have a review of the products.
Skinfix Hand Repair Cream: $17.99 2oz
"Clinically proven to treat dry cracked skin and eczema.
Total relief of the itch, the ouch and embarrassment of dry, irritated hands. Skinfix® Hand Repair Cream™ delivers healing benefits above and beyond the average hand cream to soothe the most challenging skin conditions. This specially formulated medicinal hand cream contains 1% colloidal oatmeal which is the ideal skin fix for eczema, dermatitis and extreme dryness. Dryness is relieved on the very first application. Our super-rich formula seals in protection that lasts from wash to wash."

First up we have a hand cream from Skinfix. This is touted to treat dry cracked skin and eczema. While I don't have eczema and my skin isn't dry to the point it's cracking I do like a good thick lotion to apply after doing the dishes or anything where my hands are in water for a while.
When you first squeeze it out you realize just how thick it is, which I don't mind, I hate runny lotions. But then the smell it hits you. While it's said to be scent free it still (like most things) has a very weird odor. I can't really place it but it was not pleasant. And unfortunately it didn't dissipate as you rub it in. It also leaves your hands feeling really greasy. I can't stand that, it left me wanting to wipe my hands off after using it. I usually used it at night because of that.
While it's said to provide relief in one application I didn't really notice a difference. Maybe it's because my skin is in pretty good condition at the moment. I don't think I'll be repurchasing this because I just didn't like it. Between the smell, how greasy it leaves you feeling and the price it's not a win in my book.

Colgate Optic White Toothbrush+ Built-In Whitening Pen & Express White Toothpaste: $12.99 & $3.00 3oz
"Want a beautiful whiter smile, but don’t want to add complicated steps to your routine? The Colgate® OPTIC WHITE® Toothbrush + Built-In Whitening Pen is an easy and effective way to get whiter teeth in 2 days.* High-impact whitening with no waiting and no rinsing. Now everyone has time for whiter teeth. It’s as easy as… Brush. Whiten. Go!"

If you follow me on IG then you may remember that I was a little hesitant about using this as I have really sensitive teeth. I'm normally a Sensodyne user and was afraid that switching from that would bring my sensitivity back. I am happy to report that I've been using these for about 3 weeks now and I haven't had any issues.

As far as whitening goes I have noticed a difference but nothing mind blowing. You are obviously not gonna get the same results that you would get from a professional whitening. My wife the heavy coffee drinker was very pleased with her results. She has already bought another tube since we have almost finished the first one.

I don't think I'll be repurchasing the toothbrush combo for a few different reasons. The biggest is I couldn't stand the taste of the gel in the pen. It took everything in me to not wash it off when I would use it. The other problem I had was the weight of the toothbrush. Even with the pen in it felt really light and a little flimsy. I did like the bristles though so maybe I'll give the regular Optic White brush a try.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Collection: $8.99/piece
"Provides immediate frizz resistance in the shower and with continued use the benefits get stronger--providing even smoother, more manageable, frizz-free hair over time.
Works from the inside out, fights frizz at the source for ultra-smooth hair."

Even though I live in the south where the humidity is killer I don't have that big of a problem with frizz, especially at the moment. That being said I haven't actually used these yet but I will come back and edit this when I do.

Tide Pods + Febreze: $4.99-$10.99
"When you pop in a pac of New Tide Pods Plus Febreze, you’ll get an amazing clean PLUS 24 hours of freshness! Simply toss a 4-in-1 pac into the washer to clean, brighten fabrics, fight stains and freshen each load. It’ll infuse all your favorite clothes with a long lasting Botanical Rain scent that smells like fresh flowers. Just one pac delivers the trusted cleaning power of Tide, wash after wash. For a brilliant clean freshness that pops around the clock, New 4-in-1 Tide Pods Plus Febreze is the all-in-one solution for you!"

These were my favorite thing in the whole box, and something that we have already repurchased as well. We normally just use a regular liquid detergent and this is so much easier. I hate washing clothes, which is why my wife usually does it hehe, and just being able to throw this in is a lot quicker. But, the best part for me was the smell. It lasted longer than most detergents we've tried and it actually left my closet smelling better.

There was also a code for a free piece of lingerie from Adore Me, which I opted to skip. From what I have seen of other reviews it was just okay. If you would like more info on the brand and the products check out Lace&Lacquers post.

Overall I was pretty pleased with this box. I as able to find a couple new things that I'll be using and maybe another depending on how my hair likes it. What do you ladies think? Would you be interested in another review should I receive a future Voxbox? I am sorry if this was all over the place, I literally had no idea what I was doing lol. As always, thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed :)

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

  1. I love the pods that you can throw in the wash! I'm currently using the GAIN brand ones.

  2. I saw those at the store, they seemed a bit cheaper but the scent I really wanted to try was sold out so we just went with the Tide ones. There's always next time though. :)
