Jindie Nails JINDIE-Pendence and 4th of July Look #2 Fail

Hello ladies, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday yesterday.

*One of the products in this post was won in a giveaway, the rest were purchased by me. As always, all opinions are my own. For more info you can view my disclosure policy here.*

Today you get a two-fer(yes, I'm making that a word) as I wanted to show you the second look I tried for the fourth as well as what I ended up wearing. Let's start with what I wore, Jindie Nail JINDIE-Pendence, and save the fail for the end.

I was very surprised to have won this beauty from The Nail Files giveaway. It seems I never really win what I really want, just the things I like, enter, then forget about. haha Is the tide finally turning?
Isn't she gorgeous? I went light on the coats which kept the glitter very minimal. I'm not sure that was the  best decision as you miss most of the glittery goodness. Especially my favorite ones, the huge red circles. Speaking of glitter, this baby is packed! There's square, circles, dots, stars, rectangles and hexes. All in red, white, blue and silver. And, we all know I love a white base.
Application was pretty perfect, I sit it upside down, so the glitters flowed to the bottom and came out perfectly. Of course I would wipe them all off so that was pretty much useless. Dry time was good, but because of the white base I would wait a few extra mins between coats so they glitters don't slip.

Next up we have the second look I attempted. In my head this was gorgeous, but in reality it sucked. Thinking about it now I'm not even sure it would have looked good had it worked right.
I started with a base of China Glaze Man Hunt and topped it Northern Lights.(I should have just stopped there because that was gorgeous.) Next I taped off the tips and alternated Pure Ice Superstar and Siren. When those were dry I added a bit of topcoat and then sprinkled on some red and white glitter than I got from the dollar store. That's where it really went wrong as the sprinkling was the worst way to apply. It just made a big mess.

The beauty of JINDIE-Pendence made up for the mess that was the nail art. We can't win em all right? haha Let me know what you think, what's the best way to apply the tinsel glitters? I have a lot more and I really wanna use it. As always, thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed :)
